Bangladesh,[a] officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh,[b] is a country in South Asia. It is the eighth-most populous country in the world and is among the most densely populated countries with a population of nearly 170 million in an area of 148,460 square kilometres (57,320 sq mi). Bangladesh shares land borders with India to the north, west, and east, and Myanmar to the southeast. To the south, it has a coastline along the Bay of Bengal. It is narrowly separated from Bhutan and Nepal by the Siliguri Corridor, and from China by the mountainous Indian state of Sikkim in the north. Dhaka, the capital and largest city, is the nation's political, financial, and cultural centre. Chittagong is the second-largest city and is the busiest port on the Bay of Bengal. The official language of Bangladesh is Bengali while Bangladeshi English is also used in the government and official documents alongside Bengali.

 
The national flag of Bangladesh (Bengali: ) was adopted officially on 17 January 1972. The red disc is for the sun rising over Bengal. It also is for the blood of those who died for the independence of Bangladesh. The green field stands for the lushness of the land of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is one of the largest Muslim countries in the world. About 80 percent of Bangladeshis are Muslims. Most Bangladeshi Muslims are Sunnis, but there is a small Shia community. Hinduism constitutes about 12 percent of the population.

It is not only famous for its long natural sandy sea beach, but it is also famous for the amazing hospitality, fresh seafood, marine drive, kutubdia, Moheshkhali Island, and amazing St. Martin's Island. Mainly Cox's Bazar is famous for its longest natural sandy beach in the world.
The full form of DMC in the medical field stands for “Diagnostic Medical Center.” A Diagnostic Medical Center is a specialized facility that focuses on providing comprehensive diagnostic services to patients.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology, commonly known by the acronym BUET, is a public technological research university in Dhaka, Bangladesh.



In 1839, Khwaja Alimullah purchased the property from the French. Alimullah renovated the property, turning the trading house into a residence and adding a stable and a family mosque. After his death, his son Khwaja Abdul Ghani named the property Ahsan Manzil after his son, Khwaja Ahsanullah.


At present the University consists of 13 Faculties, 83 Departments, 12 Institutes, 20 residential halls, 3 hostels and more than 56 Research Centres. The number of students and teachers has risen to about 37018 and 1992 respectively.
Dhaka has a renowned culinary heritage. The city's culture is known for its rickshaws, Kachi Biryani, art festivals, street food, and religious diversity. Dhaka's most prominent architectural landmark is the modernist Jatiyo Sangshad Bhaban; while it has a heritage of 2000 buildings from the Mughal and British periods.
St. Martin is generally known as “Narikel Zinzira” in Bengali, means 'Coconut Island' and this is the only coral reef island in Bangladesh. It is a small island in the north eastern part of the Bay of Bengal, created the southernmost part of our country.

Sajek Valley is known for its natural environment and is surrounded by green mountains, dense forests, and hilly terrain. Many small rivers flow through the mountains, among which the Sajek (also Kasalong) and the Masalong are notable. On the way to Sajek Valley, one has to cross the Mayni Range and the Mayni River.
it is the oldest tea garden in the subcontinent. Malnichhera Tea Garden is not only the largest and first established tea garden in Bangladesh, but also in the subcontinent. It was established by Lord Hurdson in 1849 on 1500 acres of land. The tea garden is located a short distance from Sylhet International Airport.
It is the symbol of the valour and the sacrifice of those killed in the Bangladesh libaration war of 1971. It is built with Concrete, but made of blood. It stands 150 feet tall, but every martyr it stands for stands so much taller.

 
FOOD
 
Hilsa (or ilish) curry is the national dish of Bangladesh. The Hilsa fish, an abundantly available and inexpensive fish, is marinated in a mixture of turmeric and chili paste and then pan fried before being added to a mustard gravy.
Fuchka, the mouth-watering delicacy that reigns the streets of Bangladesh, has earned its place among the best street foods in Asia.

A traditional Bengali lunch, consisting of bhaat (rice), aloo bhaja (fried potato), begun bhaja (fried eggplant), dal (lentils), chingri machher malaikari (prawn in coconut gravy), mutton, chatni, papad, and mishti (sweets).
Paratha are unleavened layered flatbreads made with whole wheat flour (atta), salt, water & ghee or oil. These traditional flatbreads are a staple in Indian subcontinent and are served for a breakfast with a side of curd, chutney, pickle, curries, eggs and meat dishes.
Kachchi Biryani is one of the most popular Bengali Biryani dishes in Bangladesh. It is mostly served at weddings and social gatherings as delectable dishes are the main attraction of such celebrations. The cooking style of Kacchi is quite unique.

According to the 2011 national census, the most recent year for which disaggregated figures are available, Hindus constitute 79.8 percent of the population; Muslims, 14.2 percent; Christians, 2.3 percent; and Sikhs, 1.7 percent.

Monabarie Tea Estate at Biswanath District of Assam is Asia's Largest Tea Estate. The tea estate is owned by the McLeod Russel India Limited, a part of Williamson Magor Group.
At the centre of New Delhi stands the 42 m high India Gate, an "Arc-de-Triomphe" like archway in the middle of a crossroad. Almost similar to its French counterpart, it commemorates the 70,000 Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the British Army during the World War I.
Kolkata is perhaps the most important cultural centre of India. The city is the birthplace of modern Indian literary and artistic thought and of Indian nationalism, and its citizens have made great efforts to preserve Indian culture and civilization.

Dosa are basically crispy or soft crepes made with ground and fermented lentil and rice batter. To make the batter, first the lentils and rice are soaked in water for 4 to 5 hours. They are then ground separately to a fine consistency.

This delicious snack is made with hollow and crispy Puris that are usually made from semolina or wheat flour. Each Puri is punctured to create a hollow space inside and stuffed with a blend of mashed potatoes, cooked chickpeas, finely chopped onions, and a medley of spices
Momo is made from wheat flour, vegetable oil, chopped onion, garlic, sesame, green chilies, tomatoes, meat (preferably beef), mustard powder, ginger juice and a blend of Nepalese herbal spices. First, pour water into the wheat flour and knead the resulting dough into a smooth paste. Then mold into small, thin discs.

Biryani (/bɜːrˈjɑːni/) is a mixed rice dish, mainly popular in South Asia. It is made with rice, some type of meat (chicken, goat, pork, lamb, beef, prawn, or fish) and spices. To cater to vegetarians, in some cases, it is prepared by substituting vegetables or paneer for the meat.
The samosa is prepared with an all-purpose flour (locally known as maida) and stuffed with a filling, often a mixture of diced and cooked or mashed boiled potato, onions, green peas, lentils, ginger, spices and green chili. A samosa can be vegetarian or non-vegetarian, depending on the filling.

Rice is the staple food (as is with all South Indian states) eaten with lentil preparations such as pappu (lentils) and pulusu (stew) and spicy vegetables or curries.
